- Piece & press carefully. A flat top is a happy top
- Trim stray threads & frayed edges
- Backing & batting must be at least 4” larger than the top on all 4 sides
- Square up backing
- If backing is pieced, remove selvedges from seams. Selvedges are a tighter weave. Once you wash & dry your quilt, you might notice some puckering along the seam
- Don’t baste of pin your quilt
- Save embellishments and attach them once the quilting is complete
- Sew a “Victory Lap” by stay stitching 1/8” around the edge of your finished quilt top.
