Scrappy New Year’s!!
I have a true confession: New Year’s resolutions are for the birds! I have made the resolution to conquer my growing scrap problem many times only to become overwhelmed. Getting distracted by the next block of the month, I generate even more scrap.
This year, I have a solid plan I’ve been implementing to sort, save, and use up my scrap fabric so I can efficiently get my scrappy on!
An Alternative to Resolutions
The best alternative to New Year’s resolutions are New Year’s Goals!
Every year, I create a reasonable New Year’s Goal with a bunch of micro-goals. Breaking down a big goal into tasty bite sized morsels I can tackle and celebrate throughout the year.
By shifting from resolutions to goals, I steadily build upon my skill stack with great success. The best part: achieved little goals leads to healthy habits.
Progress Over Perfection
My motivating mantra I often chant to myself is: “Progress over Perfection”.
As long as I’m a little better than I was yesterday, that’s PROGRESS! And progress is ALWAYS more delicious than perfection.
Scrap Control Happening This Year!
Egads! I have collected 2 giant boxes filled to the brim with usable scraps. Some of these scraps are as old as my adult kiddos. This is what delayed decisions look like.
Clearly, I have never met a scrap I didn’t love! But I have a plan to dig out from under this giant heap of potential. Not only am I armed with a solid scrap plan but I’ve implemented a system to maintain scrap control moving forward.
I’m making progress!
